A few days ago, after careful preparation, declaration and expert review, the Secretariat of China-CEEC Higher Education Institutions Consortium replied to authorize our university to officially join China-CEEC Higher Education Institutions Consortium and become the fifth member unit of Heilongjiang Province universities and colleges. China-CEEC Higher Education Institutions Consortium, established in 2014, is an important part of the humanistic exchange mechanism in Central and Eastern Europe led by the Ministry of Education. The Consortium aims to promote the internationalization and professionalization of education by building partnerships between Chinese and Central and Eastern European universities, establishing cooperation platforms, integrating and sharing resources, and deepening mutual educational exchanges and cooperation. Currently, its members consist of 37 universities in Central and Eastern European countries, including the University of Belgrade, and 272 Chinese universities, including Peking University and Renmin University of China. The organization has set up the “Joint Education Program of China-Central and Eastern European Universities”. Under the framework of the Dubrovnik Guidelines for Cooperation between China and Central and Eastern European Countries, it annually subsidizes universities of both sides to carry out cooperation and exchanges at different levels in the cooperative forms of scientific research, academic exchanges (high-end forums, etc.), curriculum development (online courses, MOOCs), joint laboratories, joint cultivation of talents and etc., as well as information technology, artificial intelligence, advanced manufacturing, new energy, new materials, digital economy, infrastructure construction, environmental governance, transportation and logistics, and other key supporting areas. In addition to the above-mentioned subsidized projects, the Consortium will organize an educational thematic exchange year in its member states every year, together with thematic and diverse educational exchanges and cooperation activities, such as joint research cooperation and academic conferences. Joining the China-CEEC Higher Education Institutions Consortium is of positive significance for our university to promote its international development and broaden its caliber of international exchanges and cooperation. The university will rely on this platform and combine its own schooling advantages and characteristics to open up a wide range of cooperation in the fields of teacher - student exchanges, joint training of students, teacher research cooperation, innovation and transformation of achievements, construction of internationalized curricula, and cooperation in educational projects, so as to provide a strong support for the development orientation of the university of being “local, applied and internationalized” and the implementation of its strategy of open schooling.
