With gentle breeze, glistening dew-drops and blooming flowers in May, in the spring semester of 2023, the university officially resumed offline teaching by foreign teachers of the Sino-foreign cooperative education, and it was also a cordial reunion with Chinese teachers and students after three years.

Recently, the first batch of foreign teachers were invited by the International Exchange and Cooperation Office, and the Karelia University of Applied Sciences of Finland carefully selected and sent two senior teachers, Anniina and Markus, to work in the university. The two teachers are frontline cadres with excellent scientific and academic qualities and rich teaching experience. During their time in school, they will teach courses such as Distributed Renewable Energy Technologies and Environmental Health and Safety for the major of Energy and Power Engineering (International).

After the foreign teachers entered the university, the International Exchange and Cooperation Office together with the College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering held a simple but enthusiastic welcome ceremony, exchanging greetings and passing on friendship. At the same time, we have formulated a detailed work plan for foreign teachers during their stay in the university, coordinated the implementation of course arrangements, living services, and also carefully designed departmental activities, including laboratory visits, academic exchange seminars for teachers, and humanistic exchanges and interactions between teachers and students.

Founded in 1992, Karelia University of Applied Sciences located in Joensuu is a high-quality university of applied sciences, specializing in economics, business, design (in Finnish and English), civil engineering, IT, mechanical and production engineering, and electrical engineering. Since the formation of the friendly cooperative institution in 2014, it has carried out many international visits and study tours with our university from school leaders to teachers, co-organized the ProPeda large-scale pedagogy seminar, and dispatched two batches of exchange students in total. Since 2018, we have co-organized the Sino-foreign cooperative education program of Energy and Power Engineering for five sessions, with 479 students trained in total.
